Message from the Founder of CMI: After dedicating numerous years to the maritime industry, serving in roles ranging from Second Engineer to Chief Engineer across various vessels amidst challenging sea conditions, I reached a pivotal juncture in my career. In mid-July 2015, I made the resolute decision to transition from the seafaring life and embark on a new venture: establishing my own company.
The genesis of this endeavor traces back to 2009 during my time in Cape Town overseeing a vessel’s repair in dry-dock. It was there that the seed of founding a marine engineering company first germinated. This vision gained further clarity and purpose upon my return to Luderitz, Namibia in 2010, where I was entrusted with overseeing another vessel’s repair at Walvis Bay Namport’s Syncrolift.
During this project, serendipity introduced me to a distinguished Spanish Marine Architect, enlisted to lend expertise to our vessel’s keel and hull repairs. In the moments preceding each day’s work, we engaged in enlightening discussions on ship repair and marine engineering. His insights proved invaluable, enriching my knowledge base immeasurably.
I attribute the realization of this entrepreneurial journey to the guidance and protection bestowed upon me by the divine. Gratitude fills my heart for the blessings received thus far on this path I tread.
